YESHIVA ENDOWMENT SERVICES

By: Lenore Suri Davis

"It Takes A Village to Raise A Child"

"If You Build It, They Will Come"

So I have. Six years ago, when I first started my website, I spoke with top leaders in the community, I told the business leaders, that I thought that a depression was coming and while the economy was booming, the community should set aside funds for a community endowment for our local yeshivas. The businessmen guffawed and reminded me that unemployment would have to reach 10% to be considered a depression.

It has come to pass.

The Rabbis told me that they had just attended a  seminar by a major Orthodox institution on the subject, and that the institution was coming up with a solution to the problem. They haven't even come close.

What does it say about our local schools that there are now several huge buses picking up our children at 6:30am to ship them to out of town yeshivas that are half the price of our local 5T yeshivas.

Yeshivas in Manhattan, Riverdale and other RESPONSIBLE yeshivas have created endowments and have the proper staff to manage and grow them, so that future generations will no longer have to buckle under the tuition load.

Creating an endowment can be daunting and expensive. YES! has brought together the right legal/financial/marketing personnel reasonably and efficiently.

HIGIYAH Z'MAN. THE TIME HAS COME.

IT IS TIME FOR THE CHILDREN TO BE HEARD.
