Shiva Etiquette: Unless attending davening services, visitors should not attend before 10am and should arrive no later than 9pm. It is customary that the visitor not speak unless spoken to and should gear conversation to that of mourner. At the end of a shiva visit, it is customary to say: Hamakom Yinachem Etchem B'toch Sh'ar Aveilei Zion V'Yerushalayim or May G-d comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

This past Shabbas we heard the passionate appeal by Rabbi Blumstein to
assist Chana Oz in her battle against cancer. Both Chana and her husband Avi were members of the Young Israel of Hewlett before they had to return to Israel for Chana's continued medical care.
Chana is currently in need of a cancer drug that is not covered by her medical insurance. Her monthly expenditures for this treatment are $6000. Chana desperately needs our assistance at this critical time.

Marriage Marathon in history. Guests
arrived in St. Maarten starting Monday, June
30th and stayed the week. From villas
with individual pools that had bride and
groom ducks floating in them, to
personalized pool towels, a reserved beach
with lounge chairs, snorkels and kayaks.
From artisian cheeses flown in from Israel
to Angus steaks flown in from Argentina.
Food, drinks and cuban cigars flowed freely
as the week passed by fluidly and with charm
for all the guests who gathered from the
four corners of the world. Wedding
chairs had personalized fans for the guests,
Rabbi Yehudah Ben-Hamu, of Miami regaled all
with laughter as he married Adam and Melissa
Enbar on the eve of Shabbos, July 4th.
The bridal party was dressed
in white iselet sun dresses with aqua silk
sashes that matched the sea as the
background of the chupah. The men wore white
linen suits. So charming and elegant.
The festivities took place
appropriately in a huge tent on the beach.
Appropriately because it was open on all
four sides as the tent of Abraham's and
Sarah's. Those of you familiar with
the Enbars know that they personify the
characteristics of charity and kindness,
boundless in that their door is always open
to guests.
The 24 hour marriage
celebration culminated with fireworks on the
beach and dancing to the weeeeeeee hours of
the morning. Guests had a sumptuous
Sunday brunch before the coach came to take
us to the airport, away from from Fairy Land
and back to reality. A GREAT TIME WAS
HAD BY ALL...
